Only the ignorant among us would allow the government to usurp the U.S. Constitution, by altering the Second Amendment, which insures viability of the entire document.
According to Yale political scientist Jacob Hacker, coauthor of Winner-Take-All Politics, civic ignorance is nothing new. The relative complexity of the U.S. political system makes it hard for Americans to keep up. “The problem is ignorance, not stupidity,” Hacker says. “We suffer from a lack of information rather than a lack of ability.” The Department of Education’s task of educating our children, has been marginalized by big teachers’ unions, a bloated bureaucracy, and way too many self-interests. Schools get an “F” when it comes to teaching!
I think it has become obvious to those were educated before the Federal Government took control of education away from the States, that we have seen a complete anti-intellectual dumbing-down of our children at all levels of education and in all subjects; not just civics and government. Many claim this has been a cynical ploy by those in power to bypass teaching such important subjects as capitalism (our economic system), in favor of collectivism (in accordance with Karl Marx.
To say America is in dire trouble and at risk of becoming just another piece of defecation on the historical dung-heap of great civilizations the world has witnessed since man began to walk upright, is far closer to the truth than the “hope and change world” people were looking for when they elected Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the United States. Never has America been so divided as it is today, with the races pitted against one another; with the class warfare we see across the country; with the onset of Islamic terror; with the global expansionist plans of China, Iran, and a resurgent Russian influence, brought about by America’s withdrawal from global leadership, it is a wonder we haven’t seen total collapse by now.
There are many reasons why America has remained relatively safe from international or global wars being fought on our soil since it was conceived in 1776, but one of the arguments on the table is that because there are more than 300 million guns registered by the citizens of this country (and probably a whole lot more the government doesn’t know about). Whether that is true or not, will continue to be argued by gun confiscation advocates and those who ardently support our Constitution’s Second Amendment.
Today is it apparent to many, and I am included in that lot, that the second Amendment is the only thing standing between tyranny of an ever expanding government – and increasingly self-indulgent Supreme Court, a do-nothing hapless Congress, and an out-of-control, power hungry Executive Branch, which is why Americans with any common sense, staunchly defend our rights to be an armed citizenry. Our Founders envisioned an abusive government would surely evolve once they learned they could vote their permanency in office by bribing the voters with their own taxpayers’ money.

The fear of government over-reach and the right to protect one’s life and property was not something the great men who wrote the U.S. Constitution invented. They learned from history. Cicero, Rome’s leading orator, had early argued that the right to self-defense was natural and inborn, and not a creation of the government. The right to use weapons was a necessary part of the right to self-defense — any view to the contrary was silly nonsense. [Stephen P. So, in a nut shell, and armed America was envisioned as the only guarantee the people would have to restore our natural freedom and liberty in the face of a tyrannical government, but also as the only true self-defense method we have to protect ourselves and families from those who would be inclined to dominate us with crime and mayhem.
Schools in the U.S. have abdicated their responsibility to educate our youth in history and civics and what has made America the most prolific economic system the world has ever seen; the system of government by and for the people which is governed by the U.S. Constitution, the supreme law of the law. Today’s youth are taught to question the very foundation and principles which assures our liberty and freedom according to the natural laws of mankind as eloquently stated by Cicero:
“There is in fact a true law – namely right reason – which is in accordance with nature, applies to all men, and is unchangeable and eternal. By its commands this law summons men to the performance of their duties. By its prohibitions, it restrains them from doing wrong. Its commands and prohibitions always influence good men, but are without effect upon the bad.
“To invalidate this law of human legislation is never morally right, nor is it permissible ever to restrict its operation, and to annul it is impossible. Neither the Senate nor the people can absolve us from our obligation to obey this law, and it requires no Sextus Aelms to expound and interpret it. It will not lay down one rule at Rome and another at Athens, nor will it be one rule today and another tomorrow.

One must ask, “Why anyone with common sense would allow such a necessary and elementary building block to one’s education, be allowed to be dismissed from the educational process.” The answer is really quite simple. With the permissive, free spirit, gotta’-have-it-now generation of the Sixties cultural revolution, people developed an entitlement mentality, that the previous generations had paid for, often in the blood of wars. The Sixties generation became the generation where children began to feel that what they had been granted in life by the sacrifice of their parents, was something they were entitled to, and that no one of their generation should be denied of everything they could grab, even if it meant using unlawful means. That mentality is easily seen in the life-members of our political and business elite today.
Without an understanding of how our nation came to be, the Sixties generation and the generations that have followed, simply take for granted all that America offers . . . our freedom, our liberty, and the opportunity each of us have to succeed. Because it has become an inherited attitude, our children embark on life’s course a dozen French fries short of a Happy Meal® . They believe they are entitled to a minimum wage equal to positions which require advanced educational degrees, even for flipping hamburgers. They are not willing to put in the sweat equity it takes to earn their way up the ladder of success. They simple believe they should start at the top.
Because today’s youth are bridled with ignorance taught by our failing school systems, they have little or no education on the Constitution, our system of government, and the need for self-responsibility, making it easy to be controlled by those who govern them. They do not have a clue as to the values that has made America great.
The fourth and final article on the Second Amendment, will discuss the arguments for and against this important amendment, and we’ll examine the lies that are told to us by the liberal elite, and see the real picture behind the figures people use in an attempt to usurp our natural right to self defense.
