Additional articles published by Ed Mattson can be found on numerous websites which may be listed in the “LINKS” section. Most articles address military and veterans affairs, however, over the last two years, I have been asked to address other topics such as cancer issues, government malfeasance, current political subjects, along with special articles and short series on historic events. I will post my work here on my homepage and/or The Conservative Word website.

The effect of political correctness is to fundamentally change America, so much so that our Founders would never recognize what has occurred. It is not only maddening, but downright dangerous when such nonsense is extended to those who have volunteered to protect and defend this country.
Recent headlines that two women were graduating from the Army Ranger Training Program at Fort Benning, Ga have liberals giddy with joy. 1st Lt. Shaye Haver, 25, and Capt. Kristen Griest, 26, were the two who completed the program out of 19 women who enrolled in the traditional all-man class 364. Sixteen dropped out and one is still enrolled but is repeating a portion of the training. Congratulations should be extended by all, because of the 4057 soldiers who enrolled this past year, only 1609 earned the right to wear the Ranger Tab. God bless them all.

On the evening of June 17, 2015, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, of Shelby, North Carolina, walked into Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, where a Bible study session was taking place. He was invited to participate by those sharing the fellowship, and for about an hour he sat in silence praying with those present and was apparently absorbed in the content of the Bible verse discussion.
